where is 1864 The Sea
Captain's House ?
The House is positioned at the top of the island's cliff, just
twelve steps down
from the main path that runs through the village of Oia (Ia). From your window you
will have dazzling day and starlit night views to the sea and to the
amazing Santorini volcanoes with the surrounding multi-layered
caldera cliffs.
Although in the very center of the village, this is a peaceful setting surrounded by church chapels and private
homes.
You can easily walk to the famous sunset, the castle ruins, the
charming little restaurants and tavernas, the artist workshops and
small specialty shops, the village's bakery and sweet shops, even
down the 220 steps to the Ammoudi fishing harbor for a swim and fresh fish
with Greek ouzo.
Parking is free and a short walk away - either near the Town Hall (Kinotita)
and Post office (Taxidromia) or slightly further away near the
village's Bus Square.
Taxi service is available from either the Bus Square or the Town
Hall.
A local Donkey 'taxi' can also be arranged if you are arriving
with tons of luggage !
where is Oia ?
