visit the Aegean island of Santorini as our special guest
Step back in time to the elegance of 1864 and the modern comforts
of a luxury home. Consider The Sea Captain's House & Spa as your island
residence with our informal yet full service style. Experience how
the sea captain felt upon returning home after the many months away
from Santorini. You too will think you have 'returned home' to a
very special place.
The House has three suites, two terraces, courtyard, five marble
bathrooms, bar, wine cellar, Finnish sauna, mini-library, reception,
full service kitchen and laundry. The two Terrace suites accommodate
two people each and the third Courtyard suite accommodates two to
five people. (The entire House can accommodate a small group of
maximum 9 friends-family. Special Receptions can be catered for
maximum 75 people.)
All suites have panoramic views to the sea and Santorini's volcano
caldera, high vaulted ceilings, air conditioning, antique and
traditional furnishings, Jacuzzi bath, satellite TV with DVD/CD,
ISDN telephone with voice mail, PC internet connection, personal safe
and original artwork. Details on
Guest Services page.
enjoy the little village of Oia in a private setting
We invite you for a very personal visit to Oia. Many of our
guests travel extensively and are looking forward to an island visit
in the comfort of a luxury, two-level, historic home instead of a
typical hotel. You will normally meet four to six other house
guests during your stay - and will enjoy the services provided by the
British-American owner-host Tony and his international staff.
The House is positioned on the island's cliff just twelve steps down
from the main path through the Oia village. From your window you
will have dazzling day and starlit night views to the sea and to the
amazing Santorini volcanoes with the surrounding multi-layered
caldera cliffs.
You can easily walk to the famous sunset, the castle ruins, the
charming little restaurants and tavernas, the artist workshops and
small specialty shops, the village's bakery and sweet shops, even
down the 220 steps to the Ammoudi fishing harbor for a swim and fresh fish
with Greek ouzo.
Drench yourself in the Aegean sun on the House's rooftop,
terrace or courtyard. Then cool down in the new rooftop hydrospa or
in your suite's Jacuzzi bath - or
best with a special Bulgarian Yogurt & Honey Massage treatment
at our Caldera Massages Studio & Spa.
(The House didn't
have a pool in 1864 - and as a designated
Historic Traditional Building by the Greek Ministry of Culture
- it doesn't have a pool today.)
Guests enjoy swimming in the sea caldera near the village harbor, at
the many Santorini "Black, Red, White" beaches and at the locals'
"secret" naturist beach.
